This is a “Medal of Honour for Long Voyages Accomplished,” established in AD 1904 by the Italian military to recognise officers and enlisted personnel with significant seafaring experience. The medal is issued in three materials based on years of service: gold for 20 years, silver for 15 years, and bronze for 10 years. The example held in this collection is a gold medal awarded for 20 years of maritime service.

The medal is circular in design, featuring on the obverse a standing goddess draped in flowing garments. The goddess raises her right hand, holding a laurel branch, while her left-hand rests on an oval shield adorned with a cross and emblems representing the provinces of Italy. To the left rear of the goddess are two ships on the open sea: a steam-powered warship and a wooden two-masted schooner. To the right of the shield is the sculptor’s mark, “S.J.” At the bottom of the medal, there is an inscription, “REPVBBLICA ITALIANA” (Italian Republic), along with the hallmark “Z917.”

This medal is a post-AD 1946 version issued after Italy transitioned from a monarchy to a republic. In the Kingdom of Italy version, the inscription at the bottom read “REGNANDO VITTORIO EMANUELE III,” meaning “Reigning Victor Emmanuel III.”

The reverse of the medal features an anchor wrapped with rope, with the hexagonal space formed by the rope engraved with the medal’s name, “MEDAGLIA D’ONORE PER LUNGA NAVIGAZIONE COMPIUTA” (Medal of Honour for Long Voyages Accomplished). The background is a globe, depicted with latitude and longitude lines. The top of the medal includes a loop for attaching the ribbon, which has a blue background with white stripes.

這是一枚設立於公元1904年，義大利軍方旨在獎勵擁有航海經驗的官兵發行之「遠航成就榮譽獎章」。這枚獎章按照航海經歷分為三種材質，二十年經驗的金質、十五年的銀質和十年的銅質，本館收藏為航海經驗達到二十年的金質獎章。

獎章外觀為圓形，右前方是一名衣袖翩翩的矗立女神像，女神抬起的右手握著一枝月桂枝條，左手是扶著一面帶有十字架和義大利各省紋飾的橢圓形盾牌。女神的左後方是汪洋上的兩條船，一艘是蒸汽船造型的戰艦，另外一艘是木製的雙桅小帆船。而在盾牌右側有雕刻師的姓名戳記「S.J.」，獎章最下方有一行銘文「REPVBBLICA ITALIANA」(義大利共和國) 和「Z917」戳記。

這一枚獎章為公元1946年從君主改制為共和國後的版本，義大利王國時期的版本其正下方銘文為「REGNANDO VITTORIO EMANUELE III」即「維多·伊曼紐三世的統治」。

獎章背面是一條纏著繩子的船錨，麻繩圍繞的六邊形空間鐫刻著獎章名稱「MEDAGLIA D’ONORE PER LUNGA NAVIGAZIONE COMPIUTA」(遠航成就榮譽獎章)，後面則以經緯線的地球儀作為背景。獎章頂端有一個提把銜接綬帶，綬帶以藍色作為背景且搭配白色色條。
