The inscription on the left, “JADIS,” signifies “the past.” Below, in small letters, appears the signature “A. MICHAUX,” representing the engraver of the token, Alphonse Michaux.
The reverse features a modern minter seated at a machine, industrially striking coins. The inscription on the left, “AUJOURD’HUI,” translates to “today.” Below, the words “MONNAIE DE BRUXELLES 1910” indicate that the token was issued by the Brussels Mint in 1910. Both the obverse and reverse are bordered by a delicate beaded rim.
