This is a copper coin with a denomination of 200 cash, minted in the second year of the Republic of China (AD 1913) by the Sichuan Mint.
The obverse of the coin features a beaded border, within which are two crossed five-coloured flags. This coin is referred to as the “Double Flag Coin” by the residents of Sichuan. Based on the style of the flag tassells hanging from the flagpoles, it can be further classified into two versions: “straight tassel” and “twisted tassel.” This coin belongs to the “twisted tassel” version, where the tassells are wrapped around the flagpoles.
On the outer sides of the beaded border, near the lower portion, there are two round dots. The upper edge is inscribed in English with the national name “THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA,” while the lower edge features the denomination “200 CASH.”
The reverse side of the coin features a concentric circle, within which the denomination is decorated with floral motifs and symmetrical ears of wheat. The Chinese characters for the denomination “貳百文” (200 Cash) are slightly worn but still legible. On either side of the outer circle, there are four-petalled floral decorations acting as dividers. The upper edge is inscribed with the year of minting “中華民國二年” (the second year of the Republic of China), while the lower edge reads the minting unit “四川造幣廠造” (minted by the Sichuan Mint).
