This is a 5 Möngö coin issued in AD 1959 by Mongolian People’s Republic. The coin is composed of aluminium. Möngö was a low-denomination coin formerly used in Mongolia, with an exchange rate of 100 möngö to 1 tögrög.

The coin features a round shape with a central perforation. Surrounding the hole is a decorative pattern of repeating semicircular motifs. Encircling the design is the full country name in Cyrillic Mongolian: “Бүгд Найрамдах Монгол Ард Улс” (Mongolian People’s Republic), along with the year of issue: “1959.”

The reverse of the coin is decorated with a wreath motif, and features the denomination “5 МӨНГӨ” (5 Möngö) inscribed in Cyrillic script.
