This is a Fifth-Class Revolutionary Donation Medal dating from AD 1935. It was instituted to encourage overseas Chinese to donate funds to China and to recognise their patriotic contributions to successive revolutionary movements and the nation.

At the centre of the obverse is the Kuomintang emblem, the “Blue Sky, White Sun”. Above it, the inscription “華僑革命義捐五等獎章” is rendered in small seal script, while the lower portion is decorated with a red plum blossom.

The ribbon is white with blue edges, matching the colours of the Kuomintang emblem, and is attached to the medal by a ring clasp. The reverse is smooth and bears the serial number “543”.

As for the medal case, the same inscription as that on the obverse of the medal is displayed at the centre of the case lid in white lettering on a red background. The case itself is predominantly royal blue, with some scratches on its surface.

In AD 1930, at its 110th meeting, the Central Standing Committee of the Kuomintang approved the Regulations Governing the Examination and Reward of Overseas Chinese Revolutionary Donations and established a series of related regulations. The medals were divided into five classes, with First Class awarded for the highest donations and Fifth Class for the lowest.

For donations exceeding 10,000 yuan but less than 100,000 yuan, in addition to a First-Class Medal and a certificate of commendation, the Nationalist Government would also award an honorary plaque in recognition of the donor’s righteous contribution. For donations of 100,000 yuan or more, a commemorative stele could additionally be erected in the grounds of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum.

Although the regulations governing the awards were approved in AD 1930, the official designs for the medals and certificates of commendation were not submitted for approval until four years later, and records of their production did not appear until AD 1935.

這是一枚公元1935年的華僑革命義捐五等獎章 。設立獎章的緣由是為了鼓勵海外華僑捐款回國及表彰海外華僑對歷次革命與國家捐輸的愛國貢獻。

正面的正中央是國民黨黨徽”青天白日”，上方以小篆體寫著華僑革命義捐五等獎章；下方則刻以紅色梅花為裝飾。綬帶為白色藍邊，用色與黨徽一致，並以一環扣連接章體。背面表面光滑，刻有編號543。

至於獎章盒，盒身正中央與獎章正面刻字相同，採紅底白字；盒身本體則以寶藍色為主，部分有刮痕。

公元1930年國民黨中央第110次常務會議通過”華僑革命義捐稽獎條例”，並設立一系列法規，其中將獎章設為五等，依據捐款金額由高到低排序為一到五等。

若金額大於1萬且小於10萬元，除一等獎章與褒狀外，另由國民政府特給旌義匾額；金額10萬元以上者除上一條外，可於總理陵園立碑紀念。

儘管該獎勵條例於公元1930年通過，但正式的獎章及褒狀式樣在4年後送審，而公元1935年才有已製發的相關紀錄。
